Spirit Animal Guides

800px-kodiak_brown_bearAnimals have many powerful lessons to share. They are wonderful teachers. They remind us that we are only a small part of creation; that each part of creation has a place; that each creature has its own skill and wisdom.

According to Indian wisdom, you do not choose an animal guide as your personal spirit guide. The animal chooses you and they decide to whom they will reveal themselves and make their friend. As of right now in my life, I believe that I have been chosen by a spirit animal to help guide and teach me- The Rabbit.

Now I have to be honest- the rabbit was not my first choice. It wasn’t my second choice. I didn’t even consider a rabbit as a choice; it just didn’t cross my mind.  I was hoping for the swan, an owl, maybe an octopus – something that focused on my positive traits and something that sounded romantic and mystical. The rabbit was nowhere near what I was imagining.

I began to direct my energy on allowing my spirit animal to find me and I came to this conclusion after many personal questions were answered, dreams were spoken, and encounters occurred. So, for now, I will try to learn from the rabbit. I will focus on improving my overall self. I will focus on the thoughts and ideas that might be holding me back from moving forward. I will open my mind to new ways and work on the philosophy of Be Here Now. Want to know more about the Rabbit? Check out my rabbit spirit interpretation!

Each Animal has its own medicine which is unique to that specific creature. Discovering who your animal guides are is a process of paying attention to the spirits around you and following the signs. It is a process of developing your inner knowledge and spiritual understanding.

According to Manataka, If you want your spirit animal to find you, you should focus on asking for your spirit animal in dream or thought. First, pray about it. Second, be satisfied with whatever happens or does not happen.

If it comes, then it comes. If it doesn’t, then it doesn’t. Just don’t force it. :)

Animals are wondrous happy creatures. There is no doubt that animals have beautiful, balanced emotions. They love and defend one another. They feel sorrow and melancholy yet they don’t focus on thoughts about greed, envy, or hate like humans do. They live their entire lives without sin. We can learn a lot from the animal world. :)

Now its time for you to share your spirit animal interpretations! What animal guides you? How did your spirit animal find you?

Lets have some fun here!

Peace and Progress,

ok so i read this yesterday and I opened my subconscious to dream about my spirit animal at night – and i think it worked! I had a dream last night that Jack (my kitty) took off into the woods so i ran to catch him. when we were deep in the forest, I realized jack was chasing a fawn. When I caught up to him and picked up my cat, the fawn turned around and started chasing us instead, snapping at me with its little mouth- so i growled at the little deer and established my self as the more intimidating being, to which it replied “ooh! I’ve never met a lion before!” I said out loud, “I am a lion?” it said “yes. the lions eat the wood of May.” and then it ran away. sooo a little confusing, but I think eventually it will make sense…

Wow jill, that is amazing. What a wonderful spirit dream. Especially with a fawn as the messenger. I had a dream three nights ago that makes for a weird connnection. A lioness stood in front of me as I held a white ball of light in my hand.I slowly opened her mouth, reached down to the bottom of her belly, laid the white light lightly in her core and slowly pulled my hand out. She was extremely calm and was fine with what I just did. I gently closed her mouth and she made a quick little snap at me and then I woke up. It has really stuck with me. I told anima about my dream so I will see if they say anything about it. Dreams are so powerful and magical!

hmmm so the white ball of light could have been the wood of May! We are astral projecting, Jessica!
